FAQ’s

What night are training nights?

Training takes place most of the year and varies on the time of year, no rowing takes place between the end of Septmeber til the beginning of November as this is the end of the racing season and all members have a cool off period. Training for the World Champs commences in November right through to the event in May. To find out what night is best for you please contact our novice co-ordinator on the contact page.

What shall I wear?

Often when rowing in the summer and the weather is good, just a t shirt and shorts will be perfectly adequate, however bring a hoodie or jacket along to keep warm after. When rowing in the winter more layers are definitely recommended! Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a but wet (splash etc).

How long does a training session last for?

Training sessions usually last for an hour period and can be arranged with the rowing secretary who is in charge of rowing logisitics.

How do I find you?

There is a map of our location on the contact page. However here is the address for Sat Nav’s etc. Mount’s Bay Pilot Gig Club, King’s Road, Marazion, Cornwall, (sorry don’t know the postcode of the top of my head).

I don’t think I can do it..

Don’t panic! Everyone says the same thing when they first start, after a few coaching sessions we will have you rowing in a consistant crew and rowing potentially 3-4 times a week. (We make it our policy to ensure all rowers receive a mimimum of two rows where possible in the summer season (weather and circumstances permitting))
