Two Mount’s Bay rowers head to Copenhagen’s Climate Change Summit

On Sunday 6th December, two Mounts Bay rowers, Naomi Watts and Charlotte Roberts will be joinng members of Cape Cornwall Gig Club, Fran Pender, Mo O’Brien, John Harrison and also Mike White from Looe Rowing Club to embark on a journey to the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. The group, headed by Oliver Baines and also including his son Hugo Baines will be towing the Cape Cornwall through Holland and Germany before reaching Denmark. On Thursday 10th December they will row the Cape Cornwall into Copenhagen, joined by a group of local Cornish children to deliver Cornwall’s declaration on climate change.

It is anticipated they will attract some attention by using such a novel and green mode of transport to arrive into the city. Those involved are quoted as saying they are very proud to be taking such a traditional aspect of Cornwall to yet another part of the world.

If you wish to sign the declaration please head to http://www.trurocathedral.org.uk/hot-topics/hot-topics.php.
