Community Sport supports Community Rescue

Each year Mounts Bay Pilot Gig Club generously donate up to 10% of

their annual club fundraising efforts to Charitable Community groups

based in Penwith. Last year the club members and their supporters

raised almost £2000 for club funds, running activities designed to

raise the profile of the club locally.

Events have varied from a quiz night, cake and clothes sales, to

supporting the Mounts Bay Colour Run and Marazion Carnival.

The club focus on encouraging local young people, women and men

of all ages into the sport of Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing off the slipway

at Marazion Beach.

This year the club has donated £200 to the RNLI Penlee Lifeboat

Appeal. The Penlee branch of the RNLI are raising funds towards a

new building for their branch.

The cheque was presented to Penlee RNLI Fundraising Chairman, Mr

Eric Taylor at the recent RNLI Auction / Coffee Morning at The

Godolphin Hotel Marazion Saturday 25 th February 2017.

Featured in the photo are Mr Eric Taylor RNLI, Mrs Zoe Payne

MBPGC Chairwoman and Mrs Lyn Wills 2016 MBPGC Fund Raising

Officer. The 2017 nominated charity for the gig club is the Cornwall

Air Ambulance, lets hope for another significant donation with the

community helping their community.
